Bruins Blown Away By Canes

This afternoon the Bruins played what I consider to be their worst game of hockey this season. The Bruins were outplayed in every aspect of the game: they sucked on "D", they could only muster one goal on offence and played with no heart. Thomas got pulled in the second period after giving up 3 goals on 25 shots. However, if it wasn't for Thomas' spectacular play the score could have easily been 10-1. Thomas was the only Bruin out there who actually looked like he was trying today and the brilliant coach Lewis decided to reward his effort with the "hook". Sauve took Thomas' spot between the pipes and looked lost and in awe of actually being in the game - he is not ready for "the bigs" yet.
Game hilites:
- Primeau in the box ..... again
- no speed or effort in either end of the ice
- Chara did alright but still not playing at the level he should
- Thomas made some amazing saves.
- Painful to watch (for a Bruins fan)
- Bruins outshot 40-26 (seemed like more however)
- Canes looked confident and were in complete control for the whole 60 minutes.

Hopefully this is just one of those isolated games that come around a couple of times a season - I hope it is not a sign of things to come because for the last two weeks the Bruins were finally playing like a team. They now have a trip to TO where they play the Leafs in their next two games.
The Bruins game on Saturday will be their 21st of the season. I will be giving an in depth quarterly report of the team after this game.

Go Bruins !!!

I can only hope it was residual tryptophan from yesterday.

I was actually in a rare position to listen to this game today, but when I went to NHL.com at 12:30 the link for todays game gave me the Bruins-Penguins game from the other night and the Hurricanes link said the game hadn't started yet.

Way to be on the ball, NHL.com

I'm not sure about the tryptophan but I think they may have been slow and lazy from eating to much turkey yesterday. I would like to see a stat on winning percentage for the day after thanksgiving games - I'm thinking that the vistors probably have an edge due to not eating turkey at home - turkey is supposed to have some chemical in it that makes you tired.

latrappe, in case you never noticed yet; Lewis is clueless. Mara had the most ice time on the team today. That alone shouild be enough to get Lewis fired.
