A streak! (don't look Ethel!)

If I had a victory cigar, I'd take it out and smoke it.

Sure, it's not the Stanley Cup. Nor is it the playoffs. Hell, it's not even a grudge match against the Canadiens. But you know what? After the crappy start to the season the Bruins had, a four game win streak suuuure feels nice.

And you know what else? The Bruins are now the proud owner of a winning record! That's right! After flopping around the bottom of the standings for a awhile they're now...gasp!...just better than mediocre.

But this is a team that was expected to win this year. Or at least be better than last year. So we'll take mediocre for now, especially since it looks like they're on the upswing.

Just a week ago, things were looking glum with the continued poor play of the defense and the demotion of Hannu Toivonen. Now this team is looking...dare I say it?...playoff caliber. Not top tier but, again, I think we'll take any tier right about now.

Sweet.

I don't want to be a downer but the goaltending situation is not adress. Even if Thomas did his job in the last four games; he looked horrible on that first goal and he have a long streak of bad goals since the beginning of the season. I think there's only 2 games where he didn't look bad on a goal. A team cannot win on a daily base with a goaltender with a such horrible goalie mechanic. Softies allowed by Thomas doean't hurt the team because they face weaker team but when they will play Buffalo and co; those kind of goals with kill the team big time. That said, glad they won, last night. They were the better team.

treebob,
Good point - at least it is not just me thinking this.
Thomas is definitely in the top 10 goalies in the league. We will not be able to upgrade because no team with a better goalie will let them go. Thomas is good - how you make the saves doesn't matter as long as the puck stays out!

I don't want to be a downer but the goaltending situation has not been addressed yet. Thomas has been able to perform his job in the last four games, however he looked horrible on the first goal last night. His streak of bad goals stretches to the begining of the season. There have been only 2 games in which he has not looked bad on a goal. A team cannot win on a daily basis relying on a goalie with such bad mechanics. While allowing soft goals to inferior teams may not hurt them, this type of play will hurt the team against top knotch teams such as Buffalo. That said I am glad they won as they were the better team last night.

No problem. I guess it would be the same if an " english " blogger would write in french on a blog. We were writing all the same because our grammar is equally bad, i guess :-).
