I had to stop reading

Whilst in search of the little bit of Bruins or just plain hockey bloggins that would be of interest to me, I recently came across a blog that I had to stop reading for its shear idiocy. So stupid I refuse to link it (Treebob!). The premise this blogeteer was putting into the blogosphere was that the San Joser Sharks were like the New England Patriots. I had to stop at like paragraph two. Comparison of a team that has done nothing to one as dominant as the Patriots got my little head spinning. A team that has won 50 percent of the last 6 championships compared to a team that has failed get by the conference semi-finals and only once to the conference finals in this same period, well it is just plain foolish. I really stopped reading when I read that the the blogger thinks the Sharks were using the Pats playbook when they signed Big Joey to an affordable 7.2 million for an additional three years. I personally do not believe the Patriots would lock up such a high percentage of there cap flexibility like this on one player, even if said player, was thought to be one of the best in the league. Bye, bye Adam V, Bye, bye Ty Law. My guess is that this same blogger would think a fair comparison would be Tom Brady to Joe Thornton in his the Sharks are like the Pats universe. Anyone else out there laughing right now at the pure dimwittedness of a statement like that?

Oh, Jeremy and Co. Must be very happy Today as the Kings have relieved them of having to pay Davey Lewis's remaining severance.

canned lewis

well the discussion about when dave lewis gets fired can end... he and habscheid are being moved to new roles. houda will remain. the globe is rumoring that pat quinn is a possible replacement. i think if you do not think lewis is your man the timing is good. personally i think this was a poor hire and my first real disappointment in the pc era. he should have found a coach he could commit some time too.

so... who do you hire?

scott gordon comments from todays boston globe

scott gordon comments from todays boston globe:

"No complaints or regrets here," said Gordon. "I know we maximized our talent ability. We weren't that far off from winning the series. Our guys can certainly hold their heads high and know they gave everything they had."

hmm- can dave lewis say the same of his squad this spring?

"Off the top of his head, Gordon noted Krejci, Mark Stuart, and Nate Thompson as being three top candidates for big-league duty next season."

the names absent here are interesting - no hannu and no lashoff. very interesting and telling that they are not in his top canidates indeed.

there are more nuggets in the globe as well... but these are the ones that stuck out to this reader.

radio lewis

today on weei at 1:00 dave lewis will be on. i hope but do not know if i will be able to listen in. before hearing it i can tell you that the lewis haters will find reasons not to like him no matter what he says. those of us who believe he needs a chance tofail or succeed with a real team will probably also not be swayed either. i am wondering if these lewis haters have the gumption to get on the line and accuse him of the crimes i have read he has commited.

those who do hear it please post your reactions here, i will be very interest to see how people react.
