Waivers, and Gameday

According to BostonBruins.com all three players cleared waivers. Hoggan and Brookbank have been assigned to Providence and Tenkrat will suit up tonight against the Ottawa Senators. This is just the second match-up of the year for these two teams, with the Bruins coming out on top 2-1 (Chara with the winner) in the previous game.

I am looking for another excellent game from Zdeno Chara against his former team. In the last Ottawa game Chara came out hitting and attempted to fight heavy weight McGrattan. Both teams have been struggling all season and Ottawa and Boston sit at the bottom of the Northeast standings.

According to the globe this is the possible line-up for tonight:

Axelsson-Savard-Murray
Sturm-Bergeron-Boyes
Tenkrat-Kessel-Donovan (Happy Guys)
Stastny-Primeau-Mowers

Alberts-Chara
Lashoff-Mara
Dempsey-Jurcina

Thomas

Brad Stuart is 50-50 for tonight after taking a shot of the legs in the Toronto game on Thursday.

I certainly hope that Brookbank's demotion doesn't make Chara the de facto goon. The last thing the Bruins need is their only reliable defenseman spending excess minutes in the penalty box. Of course, the 10/28 game against the Senators was the only time Brookbank's dropped the gloves all year, so perhaps his services weren't needed.

However, I'm old school and am always up for good ol' fashioned goonage to spark some life into the team. Hey, who needs it more than the Bruins nowadays? Just not at Chara's expense, of course.

Chara should fight. It is something he can actually do well - better fighter than he is at moving the puck out of his own end.
Good to see Primeau got moved to the 4th line and not Donovan - treebob must hate that but personally I think
The Mellow one is a better player.

Like I said earlier, I could care less who goes down to the 4th line. I just think Tenkrat should play with Kessel. End of story.

Chara should fight; broke his hand and be on the self for 3-4 weeks. That's the kind of return a team need their intvestement. &.5 per for a goon...

Hey, they always said that Bobby Orr was one of the best fighters in the league because of his incredible balance on skates but he never did it because his presence on the ice was too valuable (granted, having Don Awrey around didn't hurt either). Not to compare Chara to Orr, but I think he should be handled the same way in this regard.

I'm not saying that he should fight all the time but a couple of fights now might help his game. It might bring out his competitive edge and get him playing better. Maybe a couple of fights in the next few weeks and when he gets the hunger and starts playing the way he should then give it up.
Although he did play good again last nite. 2 good games he had this year were both against Ottawa - play this way against other teams and The Bruins would be alot better off.
