Last Minute Roster Moves
The Bruins have placed Peter Schaefer (bad move last season giving up "Mellow Yellow" Donovan for this bum), Nate Thompson (I actually liked this guy) and Jeremy Reich (I liked his style but was expendable) on waivers. It will be interesting to see the final lineup and line combinations for the B's 1st game on Thursday against the once powerful (but not anymore) Avalanche.
Look for Ryder to have a big season playing with Savy. He lacks a complete game but what he does well he excels at and that is shooting. He will flourish in Beantown playing with Savard. Savy will in turn lead the league in assists - these two are going to be a great fit for each other.
Bergeron will be better than ever and Sturm will benefit from his return.
Lucic will also add to the forward power of this team and hopefully over the summer Kessel learned that hockey is a team game and not an individual show ( if he ever realizes this he could be great).
The backline looks solid defensively but is missing a true powerplay quarterback.
Goaltending is great with Thomas, Rask, Signalet and even Fernandez. They are second in depth at this position, trailing only Columbus with Leclaire, Lacosta, Norrena and Mason.
It looks like the making of a good team and it should translate into success for this year's squad.
Go Bruins Go!!!

Looks like Thompson got picked up by the Isles. Too bad, he just never really fit in the Boston lineup. I can't imagine he ever would have gotten out of Providence with our current glut of centers.
Good call on the Schaefer/Donovan trade... maybe not a huge factor in the franchise history, but it was definitely a something-for-nothing deal.
