Who is he setting up?
Just a quick observation from looking at our team stats. I noticed that Savard has 70 assists. Who scored the goals on these assists? Excluding his own goal scoring (which he can not have assists on) Boston's top 3 goal scorers are: Murray, Sturm and Bergeron with 28, 25 and 21 goals - a total of 74 goals. Has Savard been in on practically everyone of these goals? After these players the next top goal scorer on Boston is Bochenski with 12.
You expect for a 70 assist man to have someone with him on his line that would be close to a 50 goal scorer - Boston doesn't have a 30 goal scorer. Has Savard been setting up everybody and if he wasn't on our team would we have any goals at all this season? Has www.nhl.com made a mistake with their stats? For Savard to have 70 assists is amazing but it is even more amazing when you realize that no one on Boston has scored any goals. If Boston did have a goal scorer Savard would have had 100 assists!
Without Savard and Timmy on our team this season Boston might have ended the season with zero points. The rest of the team should be ashamed and hold themselves accountable and come back next year playing like Savard has been all season long. I think everyone in a Bruins uniform should apologize to both Timmy and Savard for letting them down this year.
On a side note Boston beat Ottawa last night 3-2. Hard to get excited over it but I still like winning no matter what.

I've been thinking exactly the same thing. But they don't keep stats on who he assisted, do they? The only thing I can come up with is that, in addition to setting up most of the goal scorers at one time on another 5 on 5, he's also the primary puck mover on the power play (47 PP points).
Wow, look at his assists/game: 0.92! That's golden. The next closest is Bergeron with 0.63.
Man, looking at goals/game, this team really, truly missed Muzz. It's so weird that some fans are so ready to dump him! I just don't get that.
Another mystery that has been bugging me: how on earth did Patrice Bergeron end up with a +/- of -24? (shaking head in disbelief)
Is he perhaps one of those who lets up, particularly in the 3rd?
#4:
Bergy has been a disappointment this season. Something is not right with him. Could be frustration or he may be playing hurt. We may find something out at season's end. Either way he has not been himself on the ice.
# 4, whats up with the fight between you and latrappe. Personally I think its funny.
There's almost a 30 point discrepancy between the #1 scorer on the B's and the #2 guy (Savard and Bergeron). I think that's also a big reason why the team has not fared well - lack of balanced scoring. Well, then again, the scoring *is* balanced... on the low end.
re: Bergy - it's been *rumoured* that he's had a bum hip for much of the season. He acknowledged his shoulder injury around the 40 game mark or so, but there's been rumblings that something's up with one of his hips and perhaps that's led to his lack of top-end performance this season.
Muzz - I think a lot of fans want to dump him only because for $4.1M, there are better options that are younger and less expensive than Muzz out there. I'm NOT for trading the team's #1 goal scorer over the past 2-3 seasons, unless something of equal value is coming back. And based on that contract and his age...
I guess Savvy went above and beyond in proving those people wrong who said he was only good because of his linemates. He's got no linemates (besides Muzz when he's here) and he's still producing. Very mysterious.
I heard that the Bruins asked Patrice to come back when he did, because they needed him for the playoff run that they were having, but that he wasn't really ready. He definitely isn't himself.
Thanks for your comment and the link! I'm having fun and looking forward to a full season of blogging myself. Let's hope the Bruins can actually do something next year.
katie o'd: you're just like the other bloggers...but littler:)
Kate O'D, I live in boston what part of boston are you from?
kate - i let through the comment above with some misgivings - anonomous strangers searching out the locals of young women on the internet , seems well.. im sure jimmy is fine he is just in the witness protection program or something.
