Bruins Shut Out By Devils
Boston lost in their 2nd pre-season game to The New Jersey Devils by a score of 3-0.
The line up was about 90% different from the one The B's used to down The Islanders on Tuesday nite. The B's never generated much offense in this game but Weekes did have to make a very good save on Kessel.
Fernandez and Rask split the goal tending duties in this game with Manny giving up one while Tuukka was beaten twice - both let in a "softie". From the 1st 2 pre-season games it looks like The Bruins' goal tending tandem for the season should be Thomas and Sigalet (but it is still too early too predict this just yet).
In other game notes it is usually not surprising to be shut out by The Devils but this time Martin Brodeur was not between the pipes. The Bruins were blanked by the goal tending duo of Keven Weekes and Frank Doyle(??) - this is a little bit embarrassing but hey it is still only exhibition and really doesn't matter anyway.
Scoring for The Devils was provided by snipers Rod Pelley, Karel (the raccoon) Rachunek and Billy Tallackson.
The Bruins pre-season record now stands at 1-1-0.
Once the final team is announced and the real season begins these types of losses will be history - 2007/2008 is the start of a new era in Bruins hockey (maybe even the making of a dynasty).
I can smell the cup already!

woah! i love the enthusiasm buff, but dynasty on a 1-1 preseason? that seems like a long shot!
i think we need to see much more promise from the 12-30 guys on the roster to be talking dynasty. right now bright spots in this group, are rask, lucic and stuart.
a tad concerning from the game stories (to me at least) was a quote from fernandez saying he is not ready to push off with his hurt leg yet, especially only in a preseason game. so what is next? i'm not playing 100 percent yet because its only the 5th game of the season. or i do not want to really test the leg until the playoffs?
neb,
-yeah I might be a little enthusiastic but I can't wait for REAL hockey to start. Dynasty might be a longshot but we should win the next 2 cups at least:)
-some of our young players do show great promise.
-as for Manny the knock on him out of Minnesota is he can't take losing and shits on his defense when things are going bad - not a team 1st player. He keeps our goaltending at status quo at best - I do not see him as being an upgrade - but he is on our team now so I hope he wins every game and proves me wrong!
