Bruins Are First To 40 Wins!!!

THE BOSTON BRUINS defeated The Carolina Hurricanes last night 5-1 to remain at the top of the standings as the league's greatest team. The win was Boston's 40th of the season and they still have 24 games left to play. Last year The Bruins had a descent showing and only had 41 wins on the entire season - that's how good they are this season!!!

Game hilites from last night:

- The Hurricanes retire some average player's jersey before the game (yawn!!!!)
- The Bruins scored 2 powerplay goals.
- The Bruins scored 2 shorthanded goals.
- Bergy scored for the 1st time in 3 months (I hope he shows Kessel where the net is).
- Timmy was our best player ....... again (of course).

3 stars as picked by me:

3 - Yelle - worked like a dog all night.
2 - Wideman - Our best defenceman this season.
1 - Timmy - His play speaks for itself.

The Michael Ryder Factor:
- Since Ryder went out injured the Bruins have been struggling just a little bit. However he finally practiced with the team on Monday and is traveling with them. He is that good that all he needs to do is be around the Bruins and they play this much better - wait until he returns to playing - they may never lose again!!!

The Bruins are now off until the weekend when they take on Both Florida teams on Saturday and Sunday. These two games are a joke and they will have 42 wins come Sunday night.

Go Bruins Go!!!

Obviously, you missed the out-of-town scoreboard where Florida beat New Jersey 4-0 last night.

Florida could easily be a tough game. They're playing to keep Bouwmeester on the team.

Corn, I am actually quite afraid of all Florida teams. They have tended to have Boston's number over the years. Buff is our blog cheerleader though :)

Florida's a joke and Bouwmeester's overrated - he would be 3rd at best on Boston's defense - I have Wideman over him and even Chara.

Not a cheerleader but if I think they are going to win I say it. With this team I just think they are going to win every game :)

Timmy, #1 star? I think you grossly overlooked the contribution of Fernandez. Without him, Thomas would go another hot/cold streak. Anyhow, Thomas nor Fernandez will be in Boston, next year. With Krecji, Kessel and Hunwick to re-sign + Lucic, the year after, the Bruins can't spend 4.5-5 per on Thomas. The best guess is to say that the Bruins will sign an experienced backup and move Rask slowly into the #1 spot. There's many keepers who can be sign for cheap and do the job very well...

Anon, why are you hiding?

I think you missed the point of this post all together. He is giving the 3 stars for the game. Did Fernandez play? If we were talkign about the season in general then of course it would be a gross oversight to omit Fernandez from the star list.

Now to the rest. I belive they will sign one of the tenders to a new deal. My hope is Timmy since he isn't injury prone but he may choose to go somewhere else for more money. We can afford to keep one tender for 4.5 million per. Murry will be off the books next year along with Fernandez. Other than Hnidy and Axelsson (neither would be too expensive to keep) all the rest are RFA. Of the RFA's Kessel and Krejci might get a significant raise. Krejci though is still young in his career and I can't see him getting that much more for now.

Timmy will 100% be back. Manny will be gone July 1st. Manny has contributed but they will not keep both. Rask, in my opinion, is not the keeper all Bruins fans hope he is.
